Alfred Marchand was one of the first African American librarians in the
US and worked at the Cincinnati Hospital from 1873-1918. Leah Everitt presented this talk on Thursday, June 16, 2022 as part of the Donald C. Harrison Health Sciences Library/Henry R. Winkler Center for the History of the Health Professions Summer Lunch and Learn Series. In this presenation, Everett discusses the archival research she has undertaken at the Winkler Center and elsewhere, and what it has revealed about Marchand’s academic accomplishments and his career as librarian for the Cincinnati Hospital.
