"Preserving Your Personal Library" was a Facebook live event presented by Preservation Lab members, Kasie Janssen, Catarina Figueirinhas, and Jessica Ebert. The event aired on Tuesday, June 16th at 7pm (EST) and was co-hosted by the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and the Unviersity of Cincinnati Libraries.
In this outreach event, the Preservation Lab members discussed common preservation issues that anyone might encounter in their home, from temperature and humidity, pests, considerations for storing items on bookshelves, matting and framing of flat paper-based items, and other storage solutions. A resource handout was created for viewers with helpful educational resources and helpful supply links. That handout can be accessed via the Public Library
here or as an attachment here on MediaSpace. The livestream ended with a step-by-step demo of how to create a simple paper slipcase at home. This instructional video can be viewed separately, complete with closed captions
